JAKARTA, Public Relations—The Constitutional Court (MK) held a technical assistance program on archives entitled “Culture of Orderly Archives for Excellent Service” both onsite and online at the ground floor hall on Friday, May 13, 2022. All civil servants in the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General of the Constitutional Court attended the event, which was officially opened by the Head of the General Affairs Bureau Elisabeth.
Archivist Kasiman provided directions on the importance of good archives management in the Court, as it is a judicial institution with many units, which require data and documentation that must be accountable to the public. He said that currently the Court’s correspondence application SIKD (Dynamic Archival Information System) had been optimized for cross-unit bureaucratic administration management and its benefits and effectiveness had been enjoyed by many.
“The SIKD application is but one of the archives in the Constitutional Court. Aside from it there are financial, personnel, training, and website archives and so on, all of which are electronic. Our next task after all of those archives have been digitized is to manage the archives on those applications. Our duty at this event today is to talk about the challenges that each unit faces, to find out the solutions together, and to practice it in each of the units,” he explained.
Kasiman admitted that the monitoring of the high number of archives that each work unit created and sent was not yet optimal as there had been no standard format to refer to in all work units. Therefore, the Court’s Archives Unit must request a worklist for each delivery of electronic archive in one door.
“For example, we can create a system—office.mkri.id—which can prevent document forgery. Moreover, in the event of any incident outside of procedure, a structured tracking can be carried out right away,” he stressed.
