JAKARTA, Public Relations—The Constitutional Court (MK) welcomed archivists of the Secretariat-General of the House of Representatives (DPR) on Thursday, April 14, 2022 in the Delegation Room on the 4th floor. They visited to find out more about the management of electronic archives in the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat-General of the Constitutional Court.

They were welcomed by the Head of the General Affairs Bureau Elisabeth as well as the Court’s archivists and IT administrators. Elisabeth expressed the Court’s readiness to provide the information that they would like to inquire about.

She explained that the Court had implemented the Dynamic Archival Information System (SIKD), which has significantly helped the Court in correspondence and general administration.

“It has helped us in completing administrative tasks in both the Secretariat-General and the Registrar’s Office’s case handling. The SIKD application is also used as an instrument to assess all employees of the Court,” she said.

Next, archivist Kasiman said that the Court is assisted by the judicial and general administration support. The judicial administration produces case archives, while the general administration produces general archives supporting the management of finances, human resources, research, and so on.

Case archives, he added, are hybrid—electronic and digitized. Meanwhile, financial archives are electronic and can be accessed from anywhere. He also said that the mission of the Court’s archivists are preserving state archives.

“That is the Court’s spirit, and it is what is being preserved so the Secretary-General of the Court urged us to build the archive system,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Yulianingsih of the House’s Secretariat-General said their archivists would like to find out more about the management of the Court’s electronic archives, regarding the types of archives, their metadata, their management, and their security. She added that in the management of archive, including electronic archive, there is the creation, use, maintenance, and development stages.
