JAKARTA, Public Relations—The Constitutional Court (MK) held another judicial review hearing of Law No. 7 of 2021 on the Harmonization of Taxation Regulations (HPP Law) for case No. 14/PUU-XX/2022 on Monday, March 7, 2022. The petition was filed by the Secretary-General of the Ummah Party DPP (central executive board) Priyanto.

The Petitioner’s legal counsel Oktavia Sastray Anggriani conveyed several additional paragraphs on the deadline for formal judicial review petition in the revised petition. In addition, the Petitioner submitted evidence P-1 through P-7.

At the preliminary hearing, the Petitioner argued that the HPP Law had amended the provisions of other legislation and added new ones, making it ambiguous in that it is unclear whether it is a new law or the amendment of another law. He also asserted that the law’s formation had violated Article 22A of the 1945 Constitution, thus he requested that it be repealed.
