JAKARTA, Public Relations—The Association of Constitutional and Administrative Law Lectures of Indonesia (APHTN-HAN) had an audience with the Constitutional Court (MK) on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Secretary-General of the Constitutional Court and General Chairman of Executive Board (PP) of APHTN-HAN M. Guntur Hamzah; PP APHTN-HAN Secretary-General Bayu Dwi Anggono; PP APHTN-HAN Chairpersons Himawan Estu Bagio, I Gusti Ayu Ketut Rahmi, M. Fauzan, Siti Marwiyah, and Noor Harisudin; the Head of the Department of Interagency Cooperation and Relations Agus Riewanto, the Secretary of the Department of Interagency Cooperation and Relations Tholabie Karlie; as well as the Head of the APHTN-HAN Conference Committee Jimmy Z. Usfunan were in attendance. Also present were the Court’s Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau Heru Setiawan and researcher Nallom Kurniawan.
Chief Justice Anwar Usman welcomed the APHTN-HAN in the Constitutional Court’s Delegation Room. He expressed his support for the association’s upcoming conference, which aims at advancing the association and the law in Indonesia. He believes the association’s leadership would affect its sustainability and progress.
“Therefore, the APHTN-HAN, which also comprises of young educators, will expand the association, not only as an organization but also in its role in advancing the legal world,” he said at the meeting.
APHTN-HAN Conference
Meanwhile, M. Guntur Hamzah said that the APHTN-HAN would like to have an audience with the Court to invite the chief justice and Court officials to their upcoming conference in May 2022 in Bali. He hoped the chief justice would accept their offer to be part of their honorary council alongside the Speakers of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR).
“For the Chief Justice and the Constitutional Court’s willingness and support, we would like to say thank you and hopefully the synergy between the Constitutional Court and the APHTN-HAN will continue,” he said.
The APHTN-HAN is a forum for communication, companionship, and knowledge sharing for educators of constitutional law and administrative law throughout Indonesia. It was established in 1980 and was inaugurated on March 3, 2016 in Jakarta. The national organization places Pancasila as its principle.
The association was formed to establish, maintain, and strengthen friendly relations among fellow constitutional law and administrative law educators throughout Indonesia; foster and advance the quality of members’ resources; fostering and developing constitutional law and administrative law courses; disseminate information on constitutional law and administrative law issues; develop cooperation with other parties in the form of studies, research, and development of members’ resources; and contribute ideas to respond to the situations and conditions of state administration.
To that end, the APHTN-HAN strives to organize regular member meetings, academic activities, develop constitutional law and administrative law courses, publish bulletins and/or printed or online journals as a medium for disseminating information, and collaborate with various stakeholders at home and abroad.
