MEDAN, Public Relations—We cannot just rely on manual operations, but also need to keep up with the development of information technology through a change of mindset, said Secretary-General M. Guntur Hamzah at the Grand Launch of Law Doctoral Program and the National Seminar of the Law Faculty of Prima University (Unpri) of Medan on Friday, January 14, 2022.

“In the Constitutional Court, hearings are now done online. Higher education institutions also respond to the development of information technology in disseminating knowledge on the law. Many legal professions utilize the development of information technology, including the legal education profession in universities, which has transformed to digital culture,” he said before Unpri rector Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, public officials of Medan City, and law graduate students.

Responding to this development, people in the legal profession can think ahead, he said. Therefore, they must also understand internal and external dynamics within the law or the society. As such, the Law Faculty of Prima University, which has modern infrastructure, must condition its people’s mindset toward the digital culture, for example by collaboration signed with digital signatures, which it would be doing today.

MoU Signing

The Constitutional Court and Prima University collaborated on improving the citizens’ understanding of constitutional rights and the quality of the university’s education according to the two institutions’ functions, duties, and authorities.

They signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the implementation of citizens’ constitutional rights program, Pancasila and constitution education, the development of law and constitution materials as well as the Constitutional Court regulations, scientific studies, forum discussions, seminars, public lectures on law and the Constitution, the development of the Constitutional Court’s journal Jurnal Konstitusi, and the dissemination of the Constitutional Court’s decisions.
