Constitutional Justice Highlights Indonesia’s Cooperation with Jordan

AMMAN, Public Relations—Constitutional Justices Wahiduddin Adams and Suhartoyo led the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MKRI) on an official visit to Amman, Jordan. They had been scheduled to meet the President and justices of the Constitutional Court of Jordan to talk about a potential memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.

Prior to the scheduled meeting with the Constitutional Court of Jordan, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Amman was holding an award ceremony to Jordanian businesspeople who had contributed to strengthening trade relations between Indonesia and Jordan. Justice Wahiduddin was asked to deliver a speech at the event.

Justice Wahiduddin emphasized the importance of relations between the two countries. Jordan has a special place in the hearts of Indonesians as it is a partner in relation to the interests of Palestinians. It is an entry to providing aid to Palestinians. Indonesian products such as coffee, noodles, and cooking spices are also in great demand by the people of Jordan that can be investment opportunities. In judiciary, MKRI and the Constitutional Court of Jordan need to open up all possibilities of cooperation in order to provide the best services in delivering constitutional justice.

“Cooperation in exchanging information on decisions issued by each institution with translation into international languages, as well as efforts to increase capacity through internship programs for staff in each institution are some things that can be done,” he added.

Justice Wahiduddin also expressed congratulations and his appreciation for Jordanian companies that had initiated and paved the way for trade relations between Indonesia and Jordan. He also thanked the Indonesian embassy in Amman, the diplomats and all supporting staff, who had worked hard to keep the harmonious relations between the two countries.
