JAKARTA, Public Relations—Twenty-six candidates of military judges from the Supreme Court Judicial Training Center (Badiklat MA) visited the Constitutional Court (MK). They were welcomed by Chief Justice Anwar Usman and researcher Nallom Kurniawan on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Court’s hall.
During the visit, the high military judge Sutrisno Setio Utomo said the Supreme Court Judicial Training Center brought the candidates of military judges to visit the Constitutional Court for a study visit to hopefully expand their insight on the Constitutional Court’s duties and functions.
“The candidates of military judges and their mentors are visiting several state institutions including the Constitutional Court. It is part of the learning of the main duties and functions of state institutions, so that they will understand more about and have broader insight from the institutions they visit,” he added.
Nallom Kurniawan talked to the judge candidates the importance of understanding the Constitutional Court’s authorities. “Because the Constitutional Court’s judicial review authority may indirectly relate to military court’s main duties and functions,” he said.
He then explained judicial review, such as that of Law No. 23 of 2019 on the National Resource Management for State Defense (PSDN Law), for which the Court would be on session today to hear the Petitioners’ experts.
