JAKARTA, Public Relations—Udayana University won the first-place trophy of the Chief Constitutional Justice in the National Constitution Moot Court Competition VII after beating Hasanuddin University at the final round on Saturday, November 13, 2021. Airlangga University placed third. The prizes were presented to the winners directly by Deputy Chief Justice Aswanto alongside Tarumanagara University Rector Rasji at the Tarumanagara University campus, Jakarta. The Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau of the Constitutional Court Heru Setiawan was also in attendance.
In his closing remarks, the deputy chief justice said that the collaborative event between the Constitutional Court (MK) and Tarumanagara University was a concrete effort by the Court to improve public understanding of the law, especially in higher education as it is the place where the young intellectuals study to become the driving force to improving constitutional awareness. Therefore, the Court continues to promote cooperation and encourage activities to introduce students to the Court’s authorities, duties, and functions.
“As students you will be part of the Constitutional Court in introducing the citizens’ constitutional rights to the wider public. In the event that citizens feel that their constitutional rights are impaired by the enactment of a law, you will assist the people in fighting for those rights,” Justice Aswanto said.

Twelve teams competed in the elimination round on Friday, November 12. They were University of Lampung I, Udayana University, Hasanuddin University, University of Lampung II, Prasetiya Mulya University I, University of North Sumatra II, State University of Semarang, State University of Jakarta I, State University of Surabaya, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta I, Trisakti University, and Airlangga University. In the final round, three teams competed before nine judges from the Constitutional Court and Tarumanagara University.
The National Moot Court Competition of 2021 took place for three days (Thursday-Saturday, November 11-13, 2021) to win the trophies of the Chief Constitutional Justice. The seventh annual event was a means to introduce constitutional values to university students, to provide them with insight on the Constitution, to contribute to the development of constitutional law, and to introduce the procedural law of the Constitutional Court.
