JAKARTA, Public Relations—The virtual technical assistance program (bimtek) on Legal Drafting Batch I was officially closed by the Acting Head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center Imam Margono on Friday afternoon, July 30, 2021.
“Deputy Chief Justice Aswanto initially intended to close this program and deliver a closing speech, but he could not attend he is currently at a ruling hearing in the Constitutional Court,” Imam said.
The Court through the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center, he said, organized various programs involving elements of society, such as advocates, political parties, civil society organizations, professional organizations, customary law communities, NGOs, teachers, university students, the military (TNI), the police, etc. He also stressed the importance of the technical assistance program.
In serving as the guardian of the Constitution, the Court has a stake in the harmonization of legislation, including in the efforts to improve legislation, both regionally and nationally, he said.
Knowledge and Competence
The Director of Regional Regulation Planning Facilitation and Training Nuryanti Widyastuti explained that the program served to improve knowledge and competence in lawmaking. The five-day program was expected to improve the Constitutional Court’s staff’s performance so that they could contribute more to the Court. It was also expected to give lecturers of constitutional law and state administrative law some insight in lawmaking to teach their students.
Nuryanti hoped that the participants would really understand legal drafting in lawmaking and the drafting of other legal instruments so as to contribute to laws and regulations of better quality.
The technical assistance program (bimtek) on Legal Drafting Batch I was organized by the Constitutional Court (MK), in collaboration with the Law and Human Rights Ministry and the Association of Constitutional and Administrative Law Lectures of Indonesia (APHTN-HAN). It took place for five days, from Monday to Friday, July 26- 30, 2021. The participants are lecturers across the country that affiliated with APHTN-HAN, either as managers or members.
