JAKARTA, Public Relations—The Constitutional Court (MK) donated to orphaned children of its staff members on Friday, May 7, 2021.

“Today we gather here to maintain our good relationship, brotherhood, togetherness, and empathy to orphans of the Court’s family. In this Ramadan holy month, which is full of blessings and a test of patience for those who observe it, it is a provision for our salvation in this world and the hereafter,” Constitutional Justice Wahiduddin Adams said in his remarks.

He added that the Court’s donation to its staff members’ orphaned children was proof of the staff members’ thoughtfulness and solidarity.

“Therefore, we are expected to offer help to fellow staff members. The most important thing is how we maintain brotherhood, which not only stops [while working] at the Court. Even after retirement, [it] can continue. [God willing], this activity may continue in the future. This is God’s mandate for us,” he said before Chief Justice Anwar Usman, other Court officials, and the administrators of the Court’s Islamic organization.

Meanwhile, Chief Registrar Muhidin said the administrators of the Court’s Islamic organization had conducted a range of activities during Ramadan.

“[It has organized] Ramadan seven-minute sermons by the constitutional justices and functional and structural officials of echelons I and II before Zuhr prayer, although they often took place at the same time as Court hearings and justice deliberation meetings, or other activities,” he said.

He mentioned other activities such as joint Zuhr prayers, takjil offers (light snacks to break the fast), donation to 11 orphaned children of the Court’s staff, parcels for the Court’s Islamic organization, collection of Ramadan infaq (charity), and Friday prayers.
