JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court (MK) granted the withdrawal request of case No. 04/PHP.BUP-XIX/2021 on the dispute over the 2020 Bulukumba regency election filed by Askar HL–Andi Makasau. The decree was read out by Chief Justice Anwar Usman alongside the other eight constitutional justices at a ruling hearing on Monday morning, February 15, 2021 in the plenary courtroom. The Court stated that the Petitioner had requested to withdraw the petition before the Court on February 4, 2021.

The petition was filed by Askar HL–Andi Makasau. Attorney Jusman said that the number of total valid votes in the final vote count by the KPU was 237,022—the Petitioner earned 67,885 votes, Candidate Pair No. 4 Muchtar Ali Yusuf–Edy Manaf (Relevant Party) 92,978 votes. Their margin stands at 25,123 votes. Those alleged violations occurred in ten sub-districts across Bulukumba. The Petitioner also suspected an error in the vote margin between them and the Relevant Party in eight sub-districts, amounting to 33,667 votes.
