JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Ahead of the 2020 regional head election (pilkada) results dispute settlement, the Constitutional Court (MK) inaugurated Police Superintendent (AKBP) Mantiri John Dwi Arya as a chief security officer on Friday, January 22, 2021. The inauguration was attended by the Head of the Legal and Registrar Administration Tatang Garjito and the Head of the Human Resources and Organization Bureau Teguh Wahyudi, who acted as witnesses.

In his remarks, Secretary-General M. Guntur Hamzah hoped the new chief security officer could energize the Court and lighten the Court’s duty so that good coordination is realized for the successful 2020 pilkada results dispute settlement amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We will be handling a national agenda that all Indonesian citizens will be focusing on. The pilkada results dispute settlement is a heavy task and responsibility for us all,” he said.

The Court’s core business as a judicial institution is to pass decisions, which are its crown. Therefore, all members of the staff must maintain the Court’s reputation and understand that its core business doesn’t comprise goods or services, but trust.

“We have to work hand in hand in building solidarity for a constitutional court that is credible, trustworthy, but in modern ways,” he said.

“Mr. Mantiri not only devotes [himself] to the nation and state but is also self-actualized with extraordinary experiences. [His] presence in the Constitutional Court is not just [to fulfill] a duty, but also a career [move] so that the Court will truly become a respectable and strategic institution,” Guntur added.

Guntur also stressed the importance of upholding the integrity of the Constitutional Court. "Integrity is easy to say, but is not easy to implement, because tests of integrity can be present every day. Therefore, whoever passes the tests will be someone who can maintain his integrity,” he said. He also reminded all staff members to always show discipline, dedication, and professionalism in carrying out their duties.
