JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The 2020 East Seram Regency candidate pair Fachri Husni Alkatiri-Arobi Kelian submitted the revised petition of the regional head election (pilkada) results dispute on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Attorney Novi Manaban said his clients added more evidence that suggest electoral fraud and revised the petition and the power of attorney.
The 2020 East Seram Regency candidate pair No. 2 amassed 20,939 votes, second after ticket No. 1 Abd. Mukti Keliobas-Idris Rumalutur who won 31,100 votes. Novi alleged that there had been structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) money politics and mobilization of state apparatuses (ASN) by the regent and officials. The alleged violations occurred in 11 sub-districts.
In their petition, the Petitioner also alleged that the additional final voters list (DPTb) didn’t reflect the number of votes in those 11 sub-districts—Gorom, East Gorom, Bula, East Siritauan Wida, Teluk Waru, Wakte, East Seram, Kilmury, West Bula, Tutuk Tolu, and Pulau Panjang. Novi also expressed hope that the Constitutional Court accept his clients’ petition so that it could proceed to evidentiary hearings.
As of Tuesday afternoon, January 5, 2021, the Court has received 135 petitions of the 2020 pilkada disputes—76 lodged online via simpel.mkri.id, 59 lodged in person. 114 petitions were filed by regency candidate pairs, 14 by mayoral candidate pairs, and 7 by gubernatorial candidate pairs. The progress of the 2020 pilkada election disputes can be viewed on the Court’s website.
