JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Secretary-General of the Constitutional Court M. Guntur Hamzah attended a 2020 government sector focus group discussion (FGD) organized by the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) on Monday morning, November 9, 2020. The event, entitled "Synergy of Government Sector Information Security Readiness to Face the Era of Digital Transformation and Achieve the Maturity Level of National Cyber Security" will take place virtually for five days on November 9-13, 2020. It was intended to help improve coordination and communication between BSSN and state stakeholders.
At the event, BSSN Chief Secretary Syahrul Mubarak said that human beings are adaptive to their surroundings, and this led to diverse customs and cultures. He added that humans needed leaders, which brought about various types of government. Religions then came about, their values used to achieve harmony among humans as well as between humans and their environments and their creator.
All that, he said, culminated in the advancement of science and technology. “Thanks to advances in technology, information, and communication, now we are in a cyberspace,” he said. He said cybersecurity is an important issue worldwide. At the ceremony of the 74th Independence of Indonesia, before a joint session between the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) and House of Representatives (DPR), President Joko Widodo said Indonesia must be prepared to fight cybercrimes, including data misappropriation. Data is now a new, valuable type of resource. Therefore, laws and regulations are required in the cyberspace.
