JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court (MK) bade farewell to the Head of the Human Resources Department Iman Sudirman and the Head of the Court Hearing Facilities Sub-Department Eddy Purwanto on Friday noon, October 23, 2020 at the 11th floor of the Court's building. The Court's staff members attended the event in person and virtually.

“On behalf of the Constitutional Court family, [I'd] like to thank Mr. Iman Sudirman and Mr. Eddy Purwanto who had contributed to building the Court to what it is today through their achievements,” Secretary-General M. Guntur Hamzah said.

He revealed that he wouldn't be the Court's secretary-general if he hadn't been urged by Iman Sudirman to apply for the position on the last day of the application. “At the time, Mr. Iman asked me to enter the selection for secretary-general. I said I wasn't interested in becoming [secretary-general]. I planned on going back to teach in university,” he recalled. Iman then asked him to sign the application document, which led him to his current position. Guntur then asked all staff members to pray for Iman Sudirman's recovery from his illness.

Guntur said that Eddy Purwanto was known to be friendly and courteous among staff members. “On behalf of the Court, [I'd like to thank] Mr. Eddy and his wife and children for his dedication to the Court. Hopefully all of it is recorded as extraordinary worship to Allah SWT,” he said.

“[I'd] also like to thank all heads of bureaus and centers who have worked together with Mr. Iman Sudirman and Mr. Eddy Purwanto. [I] apologize to Mr. Iman and Mr. Eddy of any inconveniences [while working] at the Court. They were not deliberate,” he added.

The Head of the Legal and Registrar Administration Tatang Garjito also said that Iman Sudirman was a hardworking staff that always finished his work and not delay it. “Mr. Iman was a master of staff affairs. His retirement led to a sense of loss. Meanwhile, Mr. Eddy was very friendly and barely ever showed his temper,” he said.

Iman Sudirman was represented by one of his daughters, Rani, who thanked the Court staff members for all the moral and material support for his father during his service and after he had suffered a stroke. She also expressed hope for her father's recovery.

Eddy Purwanto expressed an apology for any mistakes that he'd done, either deliberately or not, while working at the Court. “During work, I am strict with my subordinates but it was to educate [them],” he said.
