JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman with Secretary-General M. Guntur Hamzah welcomed the Congress of Indonesian Advocates (KAI) on Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 2020 at the 15^th floor Delegation Room. KAI vice presidents Luthfi Yazid and Diyah Sasanti visited the Court on behalf of KAI president Tjoejtjoe Sandjaja Hernanto, who were indisposed.

Luthfi thanked the Court for its technical assistance program that KAI had had participated in. The program’s materials such as the procedural law in the Constitutional Court, the history of the world’s constitutional courts, the Constitutional Court’s authorities, the techniques of drafting petition, etc. had enriched the knowledge of the managers and members of the central and regional KAI. He expressed KAI members’ interest in participating in the same program.

Chief Justice Anwar Usman and Secretary-General M. Guntur Hamzah appreciated KAI’s interest in the program. “We have scheduled virtual technical assistance programs, which are still ongoing. Hopefully KAI will participate and we’ll facilitate it. The participants must be selected because Zoom only accommodates up to 400 people. Today we are holding the program for political parties,” Guntur explained.

The Congress of Indonesian Advocates, chaired by Tjoejtjoe Sandjaja Hernanto, is an organization of advocates established based on Law No. 18 of 2003 on Advocates. Its founding was initiated by the late Prof.  Dr.  H. Adnan Buyung Nasution and declared at a national congress of Indonesian advocates on May 30-31, 2008.
