JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court (MK) held an IT-based simulation of the Constitutional Court Regulation (PMK) on regional election dispute on Friday morning, July 17, 2020. Chief Justice Anwar Usman and the other constitutional justices, officials, and staff members attended the event.

The chief justice hoped that the upcoming regional election dispute hearings will run smoothly. “[God willing], we can finish an important preparatory stage ahead of the [regional election dispute hearings]. The PMK on the [regional election dispute hearings] that has been signed by the leader of the team will be submitted to the relevant state institution,” he said.

Deputy Chief Justice Aswanto explained that the PMK had been discussed last week but it was discussed again on July 17 to detail the IT support. “The Court’s IT team is ready to provide support through the system in accordance with the norms that we put in the PMK,” he said.

Head of the Center for Information and Communication Technology (PTIK) Budi Achmad Djohari delivered a presentation on the IT-based PMK on regional election dispute. He said petitioners may file the case offline by coming to the Court or online, after which they will receive a queue number.

“The [date and] time of the petition submission is recorded and the documents are verified. Then, the petition is inputted by the staff until the petition submission certificate (AP3) is created,” he explained.

Online submission, he added, can be done through the Electronic Case Settlement Information System (SIMPEL) or at the digital corner at the Court. “The petitioner entry the data of the petition, either from home or at the digital corner. After receiving a receipt, the time of the petition submission is recorded, [the documents] are verified, and the results is AP3,” he explained.

Both offline and online submission will be reviewed by the staff. There could be any revision or addition to the documents, which will then be registered. Then the petition will be recorded in the constitutional case registration book (BRPK) and the constitutional case registration certificate (ARPK).
