JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—In anticipation of the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court (MK), the medical personnel of the Court’s Polyclinic takes the temperatures of Chief Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman and Deputy Chief Constitutional Justice Aswanto on Tuesday morning (10/3/2020) at the Constitutional Court.

“This temperature measurement is a great way of anticipating the spread of [the novel] coronavirus in the Constitutional Court,” said Justice Anwar Usman at the back lobby of the Constitutional Court.

Justice Anwar appealed to all employees to follow all procedures and advice from WHO and the Ministry of Health to anticipate the spread of the coronavirus. "For example, wash your hands clean before eating and at bedtime," he said.

To anticipate the spread of the COVID-19 at workplace, WHO recommended always maintaining the cleanliness of the workplace, washing hands, installing health posters to improve employees’ awareness of the virus.

Justice Aswanto stressed that the Indonesian people including Constitutional Court employees must remain optimistic. “All the illnesses come from [God] Allah SWT and He also heals [us]. We still have to make efforts, be vigilant, not to panic, [but on the other hand] not be too confident, arrogant, and careless. I think, taking body temperature is being vigilant,” he said.

The Constitutional Court issued a circular to all employees within the Registrar\'s Office and the Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court. For employees who have just traveled abroad, especially to China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, and Italy are required to limit interaction with Constitutional Court staff and family members for 14 days after returning to Indonesia. If they have a fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, shortness of breath, and lethargy during the 14 days, they are required to have themselves checked at the nearest clinic or hospital. Those who have obtained a Health Alert Card (HAC) by the Port Health Office (KKP) officers at the arrival airport should follow the existing procedure. (Nano Tresna Arfana/LA)
