TANGERANG, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court (MK) held a work meeting to discuss revision to the Constitutional Court Regulation (PMK) on 2020 Regional Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors in Tangerang on Friday-Saturday (7-8/2/2020). Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah, Chief Registrar Muhidin, heads of bureaus, junior registrars, and staff members of the Constitutional Court were in attendance.

Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah said that in the work meeting, revision to the Constitutional Court Regulation (PMK) would be discussed, in relation to petition registration, scheduling of hearing, format of petition, response of respondent, statement of relevant parties, witness testimony, and evidence examination to the evaluation of the format of the decision.

In addition, the work meeting serves to fulfill the Court\'s needs in relation to procedural law in handling cases, especially on disputes over the results of the upcoming election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors this year.

"The Constitutional Court can further regulate the things needed for the smooth implementation of its duties and authorities according to the law. The Court has issued various [regulations] that regulate the procedure for handling cases in the Court," he explained.

Chief Registrar Muhidin said that in its development, the PMK on the stages, activities, and schedule for case management needed to be discussed and improved. Hopefully the new PMK can improve the quality of case management at the Constitutional Court, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the settlement of cases at the Constitutional Court so as to facilitate proceedings both at the Constitutional Court itself and for justice seekers.
