MALANG, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court (MK) has resolved 262 cases of the 2019 election results dispute (PHPU) to the best of its abilities, said Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah in the Motivational and Workplace Culture Training and Work Meeting and 2019 PHPU Evaluation in Batu, Malang on Friday (6/12/2019).
Before all civil servants and contract employees, Guntur reported that in the 2019 PHPU, 268 staff members of the Court were involved. “The task force synergized to carry out their work for the interest of the people,” he said.
Utilizing Technology
To prepare for the upcoming 2020 simultaneous regional election results dispute, Guntur said that the Court must work with innovation, creativity, and utilize technology-based systems. "In handling the upcoming 2020 regional election results dispute cases, we will use the technological approach. For example, if necessary petitioners do not need to come to the office, so all case files can be made online. Therefore, this system and services must be fully prepared," Guntur said in a presentation moderated by the Head of the Planning and Finance Bureau of the Constitutional Court, Tatang Gardjito.
Improving Work Efficiency
In his evaluation of the Registrar’s Office’s support in the 2019 PHPU, Chief Registrar Muhidin stressed that the technical work was done to the best of the Court’s abilities. However, he added, the Court must improve work efficiency to anticipate the upcoming 2020 simultaneous regional election. "The strategy and organizational improvement need to be well thought out following our mission as a modern and trusted judiciary. Technical services must be really designed optimally," he explained.
Muhidin also hoped that in the future the Court must be able to support the Registrar\'s Office in analyzing documents and parties who file cases, and providing services more accurately and reliably. "So, technical mistakes in the long process can be anticipated earlier. Therefore, coordination and communication need to be worked out together as well as possible," he said.
The work meeting, which will last for four days since Thursday evening to Sunday (5-8/12/2019), is expected to improve integrity, dedication, and professionalism in the Registrar\'s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court. The main agenda of the work meeting was to discuss the 2020 Work Program and to evaluate the support of the Registrar\'s Office and the Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court in handling the 2019 legislative and presidential PHPU cases. In the Plenary Session I through IV, each work unit will describe their Work Programs for the Fiscal Year of 2020 and evaluate the support of the task force for handling disputes over the results of the 2019 Elections, including the elaboration of ICT and application for handling judicial review cases and regional head election in 2020.
