BALI, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Constitutional Court (MK) Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah officially closed the 2019 Constitution Village Festival at Bangbang Village Hall, Bangli, Bali on Friday afternoon (1/11/2019). Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati, Vice Regent of Bangli Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, Chairman of the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) of Bangli I Wayan Diya, and a representative of the Law Faculty Dean of Udayana University attended the event.
Guntur in his speech said that it is an honor to be established as a constitution village because no other village is. "Therefore, I hope that all of this will go well and [the village] can be a good constitution village," he said.
On behalf the Chief Constitutional Justice, Guntur expressed his appreciation of this event and apology that the Chief Justice was unable to attend. He then said that this collaboration must be maintained. In addition, commitment is needed so that the constitution village in Bali can develop and instill the values of Pancasila and the Constitution. "I would like to say thank you to all traditional and community leaders and all the people who have supported [the event]," he said.
Active participation of the community will foster solidarity and kinship, leading to a culture of constitutional awareness. "[I] hope that [you] will be able to provide constitutional awareness, especially to residents of Bangbang village. Once again, [ladies and gentlemen], thank you," he concluded.
Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati in his speech expressed his gratitude that Bangbang Village was chosen as a constitution village. He hoped that this would introduce and instill constitutional awareness among the Balinese people. "The village has a strategic role to develop and improve the foundations of the Constitution. I also hope that [residents] can build good constitutional lives in the neighborhood," he said.
Head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center Kurniasih Panti Rahayu had previously delivered a closing report on the 2019 Constitution Village Festival. Ayu said that last year Bangbang Village had been chosen as a constitution village because there was much enthusiasm among residents to know and understand the Constitution, not only adults but also grade school children.
Ayu also said that during the event, a Constitution Contest for Elementary and Junior High Schools in Bangli Regency and a coloring contest were held. "Bangbang Village residents had been enthusiastic and supportive even before the event was held," she said.
The 2019 Constitution Village Festival in Bangbang Village Hall was officially closed by Secretary General of the Constitutional Court M. Guntur Hamzah. The event, which lasted for two days, was closed by the distribution of prizes for winners of the Constitution Quiz Competition for Elementary and Junior High Schools in Bangli Regency as well as the Coloring Contest.
