MAASTRICHT, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Junior Registrar II of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MKRI) Triyono Edy Budhiarto officially began the 2019 Internship Program at the Maastricht School of Management (MSM), Maastricht, the Netherlands on Monday  (28/10/2019).

In his remarks, Edy sent greetings from the Chief Justice and Secretary General of the MKRI to the International Criminal Court (ICC) judge Luz del Carmen Báñez Carranza, Dean of the Academy for Masters and Professional Courses at The Hague University Clemens Berendsen, as well as all participants. "The Chief Constitutional Justice planned to attend the opening ceremony, but due to busy court schedule, he is unable to attend," Edy said.

Edy then explained that as a judicial institution the MKRI was demanded to continuously improve its organizational capacity and become a learning organization. Moreover, according to him, the Constitutional Court has a vision of "guarding the enforcement of the Constitution through modern and reliable Constitutional Court." Therefore, the MKRI realized that one of the efforts to realize the vision is to increase the capacity and quality of human resources.

Closing his remarks, Edy conveyed hoped the participants can participate in all activities in this 2019 Internship Program with high motivation so that they will get as much knowledge and experience as possible and hopefully afterward they will continue to improve their performance in various aspects, including productivity and quality in accordance with their area of work, as well as always maintain the good name of the Constitutional Court and maintain health so that they can participate in the activities to the fullest.

Lead trainer in focal area Rita van Deureun, representing the Maastricht School of Management, expressed her appreciation for the collaborative internship program. She hoped that the program will continue in the future. She revealed that the MSM had collaborated with IPB, Parahyangan Catholic University, the Audit Board (BPK), and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for similar programs. Van Deureun reminded the participants to maintain health, given that winter was starting. "I hope you can adapt to the current weather and eagerly follow each material," she said.

The theme for the internship program is “Crosscutting General Management, Leadership and Strategy.” It will take place for three weeks, from October 28 to November 19, 2019 at the Maastricht School of Management (MSM), Maastricht, the Netherlands. Internship program is an annual program by the Constitutional Court to improve the abilities of the human resources of the Constitutional Court as one of the most important elements in the administration of the justice system in the Constitutional Court.
