BOGOR, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Ahead of the 2020-2024 National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN), the Constitutional Court (MK) through the Registrar\'s Office and Secretariat General held a meeting to draft the 2020-2024 Strategic Plans (renstra) of the Constitutional Court in Bogor on Saturday (12/10/2019). It is part of each ministry/agency responsibility to plan strategic programs for the next five years. At the meeting, Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah conveyed several policy points to be included in the plans.
"Currently, artificial intelligence is becoming a trend. This means that existing applications will no longer be dominant. Even though we just headed towards building applications and are already constrained by budget constraints," Guntur said. He reminded that the preparation of the strategic plans must be able to answer challenges related to information and technology development in the world of justice, especially in the Constitutional Court.
Guntur said that what has been practiced at the Constitutional Court with its transparency, the application of information technology in the judiciary, was a very substantive lesson that could become a role model for constitutional courts in other countries.
"All judicial institutions are competing to advance their respective institutions, not only in Indonesia but also abroad. This means that if we do not anticipate these changes, related to ICT-based methods, we will be left behind. Therefore, law enforcement factors starting from the regulations must involve ICT. In addition, improvements to the justice system related to infrastructure must be based on ICT," Guntur explained.
A guest speaker from the Directorate General of Budget of the Ministry of Finance delivered a presentation and provided tips related to budgeting going forward. A speaker from the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) was unable to attend.
The meeting took place for two days until Sunday (13/10/2019) with 45 officials in attendance, including Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah and Registrar Muhidin. (BHW/LA)
