SURAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University Yogyakarta (UIN Suka) won the 6^th Chief Constitutional Justice Trophy for the 2019 Central Regional Constitutional Moot Court Competition on Wednesday (9/10/2019). After beating the North Sumatera University (USU) at the final central regional.

The petition topic for judicial review in the Constitutional Moot Court Competition was of Article 359 paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation. UIN Sunan Kalijaga acted as the Government and the House of Representatives (DPR), while USU was the Petitioner. Article 359 paragraph 1 reads, "The results of an investigation cannot be used as evidence in the judicial process." The constitutional justices were played by the jury, from the Constitutional Court as well as lecturers from various universities.

Chief Constitutional Justice for 2008-2013 Mahfud MD in his address mentioned the high number of hate speech, halting its settlement efforts although the legal instruments are in place to track hate speech, i.e. the police force and national intelligent.

However, the Constitutional Law Professor of UII also said that people should not be afraid to criticize the Government. "You don\'t need to be afraid to give criticism to the president if there really is a mistake. However, the criticism is done politely not to slander, because it is could be categorized as hate speech," said the Sampang-born man.

Chief Constitutional Justice Anwar Usman delivered a keynote speech at the event. Several other figures such as criminal law expert Syamsul Bachri and Judicial Commission member Aidul Fitriciada were also in attendance. (Ilham/NRA/LA)
