LAMPUNG, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Bengkulu University won the 2019 Constitutional Moot Court Competition Western Regionals organized by the Constitutional Court in collaboration with Tarumanagara University (UNTAR), Lampung University (UNILA), and the Association of Lecturers on Procedural Law of the Constitutional Court (APHAMK). They won after beating Lampung University (second winner) in the finals under the theme "Constitutional Approach and Human Rights Perspective on Public Information Legally Exempt from Disclosure" on Wednesday evening (2/10/2019).

Bengkulu University also advanced to the national finals with Padjadjaran University and Jakarta Islamic University against the winners of the eastern and central regionals to fight for the Chief Constitutional Justice Rotating Trophy.

In the closing ceremony, Head of the Public Relations and Domestic Cooperation Department Fajar Laksono emphasized that whoever won the competition was the best of the best who had shown their abilities to amaze the jury. "The arguments raised by the delegations were already good and [they] mastered the material. Thank you to all the delegations who all looked stunning in showing their best abilities," he said.

Fajar also thanked all parties involved in this competition from the beginning until the completion. "The Court is grateful to the delegations for their participation, the jury, and all those involved from morning to night. Thank you for everything," he said. Meanwhile, UNILA Law Faculty Dean Maruli said this activity was valuable in improving students\' ability to debate and fostered a culture of speaking positively. Hopefully the students would learn from it.

Ummu Salamah, part of the winning group from Bengkulu University, expressed her joy for winning the competition and her aspiration to work hard in the nationals.

The winners were announced by UNTAR Law Faculty lecturer Ahmad Redi, representing the jury. Other members of the jury were Head of the Public Relations and Domestic Cooperation Department Fajar Laksono, Assistant Registrar Wilma Silalahi, Researcher Bisariyadi and Anna Triningsih from the Constitutional Court, as well as UNTAR Law Faculty Dean Ahmad Sudiro, Pancasila University Law Faculty lecturer Ilham Hermawan, Ubaya Law Faculty Constitutional Law Lab Chairperson Hesti Armiwulan, APHAMK West Java regional executive board Chairperson Rusli K. Iskandar, APHAMK central executive board Secretary General Sunny Ummul Firdaus, East Java regional executive board Jayus, East Java regional executive board Chairperson Siti Marwiyah, and UNILA Law Faculty lecturers Budiono and Yusnani Hasyim Zum.
