JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court held a “Pre-Departure Session StuNed Scholarship-Recharging Program” to prepare for participants of the recharging and internship programs. Several researchers, substitute registrars, and staff members in the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court participated in the activity on Wednesday (25/9/2019) at the hall of the Constitutional Court.
Opening the activity, Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah said that the recharging program is an annual routine by the Constitutional Court. It is one of the Court\'s efforts to develop human resources. "This program has a philosophy of human resources that will participate in developing the Constitutional Court in the future," Guntur hoped.
Guntur also said that the Constitutional Court staff members are acting on behalf of the Constitutional Court to display integrity, discipline, and dedication. Guntur said that the program, held by Belfast University, England had drawn admiration from foreign judges related to transparency established by the Constitutional Court. Moreover, he Court had received an award from the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) as the most transparent judiciary. "The Court is very much interested in transparency and is likened to a greenhouse. All are positive efforts as long as integrity is maintained," he said.
Guntur also thanked Nuffic Neso for supporting the Constitutional Court\'s recharging program by providing 50,000 euros in funding. He revealed the decision to receive funding support was because President Joko Widodo stated that state institutions/ministries could utilize other institutions for human resource development.
"So I feel that [the Constitutional Court] can [utilize that statement], also this activity can be funded so that it helps save the state budget. Therefore, the Court sought to receive Nuffic Neso\'s assistance. For two years, the Constitutional Court has held a [recharging program] on its own budget," he explained before Nuffic Neso Director Peter van Tuijl.
Peter van Tuijl expressed his pride in helping the Constitutional Court. Moreover, the Court has a role to bridge constitutional system issues in Indonesia. "Such as the past election, the Court succeeded in bridging the issues related to election dispute. This is where the important role of the Constitutional Court is seen," van Tuijl admired.
In his remarks, Head of Human Resources Department Iman Sudirman explained that the recharging and internship program in 2019 was the result of the Constitutional Court\'s collaboration with Nuffic Neso and The Hague University. "Cooperation with Nuffic Neso is the first time. And the Court received financial support of 50 thousand euros for the implementation of the recharging program," said Iman.
Faith said eight employees were selected to take part in the recharging program. "The selected participants were selected since August. Not only that, they took an English assessment and test. Those chosen are those who have been strictly selected. Participants who participate in the activity will sign a statement of commitment," he said. (Lulu Anjarsari)
