KAZAKHSTAN, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan affirms its support for the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MKRI) in hosting the upcoming World Conference on Constitutional Justice (WCCJ) in 2024. This was conveyed by Chairperson of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami to Constitutional Justice Enny Nurbaningsih during an official visit to the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan. Justice Enny was welcomed by Chairperson of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan Kairat Mami, Secretary General Bakyt Nurmukhanov, and Constitutional Council member Unzila Shapak on Monday (16/9/2019) in Kazakhstan.

Justice Enny was accompanied by the Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Rahmat Pramono, Minister Counsellor for Political and Consular Affairs Sugeng Wahono, and Head of the AACC Permanent Secretariat and International Cooperation Department of the Constitutional Court Sri Handayani. During the meeting, the Constitutional Court requested support from the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan regarding the desire of the Constitutional Court to host the upcoming 2024 WCCJ Congress. Related to this, Kairat stressed he would provide full support to Indonesia. "Aside from being a fellow AACC member, Kazakhstan also sees that Indonesia is very capable and has sufficient experience to hold the 2024 WCCJ Congress event," Kairat said.

They proceeded to discuss the Meeting of Secretary General dan Board of Members Meeting to be held in November in Bali. The discussion mainly concerns Malaysia\\'s desire to extend its term of office as President of the AACC and intention to hold an AACC congress in 2021.

Kairat conveyed that the matter would be discussed further internally, bearing in mind that Kazakhstan would like to hold the 2020 congress to celebrate the 26th anniversary of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan. "Hopefully all AACC members can attend the event, especially now that the Government of Kazakhstan has approved the plan and has provided a budget for the 2020 congress," said Kairat, who also promised to find the best solution to overcome this problem.

Both delegations also discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Constitutional Court of Indonesia in November. This was welcomed by the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan, who was reviewing the draft. The delegation of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia will continue the work agenda in Kazakhstan by attending a conference organized by the International Association of Court Administration on September 17-18, 2019.
