JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—As part of the 2019 Constitution and Anti-Corruption Festival under the theme "Make Your Mark of Integrity! Create Awareness of the Constitution and Anti-Corruption Culture,” the Constitutional Court (MK) announced winners of the Constitutional Short Movie Competition on “The Constitutional Court’s Landmark Decisions.” The competition was expected to be an effective medium for disseminating Constitutional Court decisions, especially landmark decisions, which carry the constitutional mandate. It was also expected to to deliver messages of the Constitutional Court decisions all elements in the community.
On Thursday (29/8/2019), the jury consisting of the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court M. Guntur Hamzah, comic artist Panji Pragiwaksono, and young Indonesian director Wregas Bhanuteja assessed the 18 films received by the competition committee to select five best films.
The Constitutional Court finally announced the winners in conclusion of festival today (11/9/2019) at Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. Wregas, a young film director, represented the jury to announce the winners before thousands of visitors who at Grha Sabha Pramana this morning.
Before announcing the winners, Wregas expressed his highest appreciation to all young filmmakers who participated in this competition. "The short films that come from all corners of Indonesia have enormous potential. Apart from the flaws, we really appreciate the enthusiasm in making stories, filmmakers who are able to express ideas in short films," he said.
The first and second runner-ups were "Hopen" and “The Debate.” “Penghulu” (Wedding Officiant) won the third prize. The “Bahagia Bersama Mahkamah Konstitusi” (Happy with the Constitutional Court) won the second prize. The first prize was won by the effective and efficient “Perluasan Makna Perjanjian Perkawinan oleh MK” (Broadening of the Meaning of Marriage Agreement by the Constitutional Court).
The competition was opened from April 11 to July 26, 2019 with 18 short films competing to capture on the Constitutional Court’s landmark decisions. (Tiara/LA)
