ALGERIA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Aswanto made an official visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia for Algeria on Wednesday (4/9/2019). He was welcomed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Algeria Safira Machrusah, Treasurer and Internal Affair Officer (BPKRT) Ahmad Zaki Mubarak, and Economic Affairs Officer Izza Maulida Muris.
During the visit, both parties discussed the political crisis in Algeria due to government vacuum, which led to demonstrations by various groups, such as students and professional associations.
Justice Aswanto discussed matters relating to the 2019 presidential and legislative election results dispute (PHPU). He also revealed that the Constitutional Court was awarded three MURI records: "Longest Nonstop Judicial Session", "Judicial Session with the Most Case Files," and "Most Transparent Trial Process." He also discussed a number of decisions related to judicial review, such as the decision related to the minimum age for marriage. (Titis A./LA)
