BANGLI, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Secretary General of the Constitutional Court (MK) M. Guntur Hamzah attended the opening of the 2019 Bangbang Culture Festival in the courtyard of the Bangbang Village Hall, Tembuku Sub-district, Bangli Regency. The Bangbang Culture Festival was officially opened by Bangli Deputy Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Artha. This event was held in commemoration of the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the birthday of Saka Truna Wira Dharma, Bangbang Village, on Friday (16/8/2019). The people of Bangbang Village looked very enthusiastic watching this event.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Regent of Bangli said that he appreciated the event. Moreover, Bangbang Village is a village that has been confirmed by the Constitutional Court as a constitutional village, which should not only make all Bangbang villagers proud, but also move to become the pioneers of the realization of a constitutionally conscious culture. The presence of the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court on the occasion, Sedana Artha added, was important to show the Constitutional Court’s commitment and attention to Bangbang Village as a constitutional village.

After being established as a constitutional village, Bangbang Village shows creativity and innovation, especially in the economic, artistic, and cultural aspects, which is very encouraging. Residents and the nature of Bangbang Village still have much potential to develope in line with its title as a constitution village. Also attending the opening ceremony of the 2019 Bangbang Culture Festival were Forpimda of Bangli, Tembuku Sub-district Head, customary figures of Bangbang Village, and host of the event, Head of Bangbang Village.

In November 2018, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman officially inaugurated Bangbang Village as a constitutional village. Therefore, the Constitutional Court is committed to helping citizens of Bangbang Village internalize constitutional values in order to have constitutional awareness. Inaugurated as a constitutional village, Bangbang Village is actually an inseparable part or has become a large family of the Constitutional Court, which must take responsibility for realizing constitutional values.

The 2019 Bangbang Culture Festival features a cultural parade participated by hundreds of young artists, mainly involving dances and gamelan in Bangbang Village. This event took place lively and was witnessed by hundreds of residents of Bangbang Village and surrounding areas. The artists presented the results of the artistic creativity as well as elements of philosophy and Balinese traditions imbued with noble religious values. (FLS/LA)
