JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court (MK) declared the petition of case No. 138-09-13/PHPU.DPR-DPRD/XVII/2019 submitted by Joko Mustiko for Central Java Province not accepted. The Panel of Justices considered the Petitioner’s petition obscure and did not meet the formal requirements. “Declares the Petitioner’s petition cannot be accepted,” said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman before the eight other constitutional justices.
Sitompul stated that the Petitioner did not present the votes acquisition according to the Petitioner and only included vote purging due to inflated votes. "On the other hand, there was no comparison of the Petitioner’s votes and that of other candidates. This makes the petition not meeting the formal requirements," he explained.
Justice Manahan said the Petitioner’s petitum was also problematic because it did not include matters related to vote acquisition. The Petitioner actually requested the Court to disqualify one of its rival candidates. "Petitum like this also does not comply with the formal requirements of petitions," he said in the Plenary Courtroom of the Constitutional Court.
Constitutional Justice Manahan stated that the Constitutional Court concluded the petition vague or unclear. Even though the Petition was within the deadline, the Court did not consider the subject of the petition. (Arif Satriantoro/LA/RD)
