JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The 2019 DPR-DPRD (House of Representatives-Regional Legislative Council) Election Results Dispute (PHPU) hearing of Lampung Province were held by the Constitutional Court (MK) on Wednesday (24/7/2019) at 08.00 WIB in Panel 2, presided over by Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Aswanto, with Constitutional Justices Saldi Isra and Manahan M. P. Sitompul. The hearing was to hear witnesses’ testimonies.
Prosperous Justice Party’s (PKS) witness Andi Setiawan talked about the incident at TPS (polling station) 2 Margorejo regarding vote recount on April 22, 2019, where there was a discrepancy in the number of valid votes and invalid votes. The recount was witnessed, among others, by the polling committee (PPS), the sub-district election supervisory committee (Panwascam), and the sub-district election committee (PPK) in South Metro Sub-district.
The results of the recount also caused PKS’s votes to decrease by one vote, from 40 to 39. PKS then filed an objection in writing on April 24, 2019, as explained by Andi.
"We filled out a DA2 objection form about the decrease of one vote for the PKS," Andi said before the panel of justices.
Nova Hadiyanto of Metro City KPU’s Law and Supervision Division confirmed by the reduction. In addition, according to Nova, vote reduction occurred involving three other political parties: the National Awakening Party (PKB) from 32 votes to 33 votes, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) from 10 votes to 11 votes, and the Golkar Party from 19 votes to 18 votes.
“Thus, those who experienced vote reduction after the recount are PKS and Golkar Party. Each party had its votes decreased by one vote,” Nova explained.
Meanwhile, the witness of the Gerindra Party, Joni Satriawan, explained vote switch between Gerindra candidates, Roy Dwi Suryono and Dafryan Anggara in the electoral district (Dapil) of Bandar Lampung 2 in the 2019 legislative election. The vote switch resulted in the decrease of Roy\'s vote acquisition and an increase for Dafryan.
According to Joni, the vote switch between the Gerindra candidates had been reported to the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Bandar Lampung City.
“The vote switch occurred at the sub-district level. Gerindra raised an objection to the vote switch to Bawaslu, but it was rejected. According to [Bawaslu], this was an internal dispute in the Gerindra Party,” said Joni. (Nano Tresna Arfana/NRA)
