JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Legislative Election Results Dispute (PHPU), which is held every five years, is the authority of the Constitutional Court (MK). In handling the 2019 Legislative Election Results Dispute, the Constitutional Court will perform its duties optimally on July 9 to August 9, 2019.

Head of the Public Relations and Domestic Cooperation Department Fajar Laksono Soeroso said of the preparations for the 2019 Legislative PHPU hearings that the Constitutional Court had continued its tradition from previous elections and then conducted evaluation for improvement. In particular, it has optimally improved in the IT department by utilizing applications that are very helpful in carrying out the duties of the Constitutional Court in order to achieve efficiency, especially in preparing administrative support for the Court. 

In terms of facilities and infrastructure, the preparation of the courtroom was a concern for the Registrar\'s Office and the Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court because all activities ultimately centered at the hearing. Therefore, the security always coordinates with the Police to ensure that the judicial process, especially the hearing, run smoothly," said Fajar on the 3^rd floor of the Constitutional Court on Wednesday (3/7/2019). 

In general, Fajar added, even though the 2019 General Elections were held simultaneously, the Constitutional Court resolved the presidential PHPU case first, followed by the legislative PHPU case. 

"That is, it\'s actually the same. In [relation to] the General Elections in 2004, the legislative PHPU [cases were resolved first], followed by a grace period, and followed by the presidential PHPU hearings. In general, there are no problems and there are no significant differences. The elections were simultaneous, but the handling of PHPU cases remains separate," said Fajar.
