JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court held the second hearing of the 2019 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election Results Dispute (PHPU) case on Tuesday (18/6/2019). The hearing ran smoothly and under control. There were no distractions or complications during the hearing.

The hearing started at 09.00 WIB until 17:30 WIB, suspended at noon, and continued at 13.30 WIB. The session was scheduled to hear the responses from the Respondent (the General Elections Commission/KPU), the Relevant Party (Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Pair Number 01, Joko Widodo-Ma\'ruf Amin), and the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).

Police officers guarded the front of the Constitutional Court and the back entrance on Abdul Muis Street, similar to the previous hearing. The Court building was surrounded by barbed wires to ensure the security of the area. Traffic in front of the Constitutional Court was blocked and rerouted.

Visitors were allowed to enter the Constitutional Court if they passed the checkpoint at the front or the back entrance. They were also required to wear identification while in the area.

Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Pair Number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno\'s attorney Bambang Widjayanto expressed his readiness to hear responses from the Respondent and the prepared evidence. "If there is factual statement, we will appreciate it, but if there is anything inaccurate, we will review it together. We will not make accusations that were baseless and unconstitutional," he said when he arrived at the Constitutional Court at 8:40 WIB.

In general, Bambang did not prepare many things because the session was to hear the responses of the Respondent and the Relevant Party to the petition. "We are actually preparing witnesses for [the next hearing]," he stressed.

Meanwhile, when he arrived at the Constitutional Court at around 8:30 WIB, General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Hasyim Asy\'ari stated that he would focus on four things at the hearing to respond to allegations of problematic vote count information system (Situng), final voters list (DPT), status of candidate, and campaign funds.

Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates Pair Number 01 Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin’s attorney Yusril Ihza Mahendra stated that the National Victory Agency (BPN) submitted two petitions—the first petition on May 24, 2019 and a revised petition on June 10, 2019. "We consider [the petition submitted on] June 10 as a new petition that was attached but not registered by the Constitutional Court," Yusril said when arrived at the Court at 8:15 WIB.

Even though the revised petition was not registered by Court, the TKN legal team would still respond to it at the hearing. "So, we will respond to both. [We will] focus on the first [petition]. We will also respond to the second. The petitum [in both petitions] is only one," he said. (Arif Satriantoro/LA/RD/FS/YW)
