JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates Pair Number 01 Joko Widodo-Ma’ruf Amin (Joko-Ma’ruf) through TKN legal team came again to the Constitutional Court on Thursday afternoon (13/06/2019). Led by Yusril Ihza Mahendra with attorneys I Wayan Sudirta, Teguh Samudra, Ade Irfan Pulungan, and Luhut Pangaribuan, the camp handed over a response to the petition for the 2019 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election Results Dispute (PHPU) case proposed by petitioner Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Pair Number 02 Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno (Prabowo-Sandi).

After submitting a statement containing legal argument, along with 19 evidence consisting of letters, recordings, and data for the next hearing, Yusril stressed that the statement submitted was a response to the argument presented by the Petitioner [in the petition dated] May 24, 2019.

"Regarding the revised petition submitted by the Petitioner on June 10, 2019, we [put our trust in] the constitutional justices, whether the petition on May 24, 2019 or the revised petition on 10 June 2019 will be examined. Although we actually rejected the answer and we comply with the Constitutional Court’s regulation, for this revised petition, we have reviewed it and prepared a statement, but we haven\'t submitted it today. Our focus is to [insist on] the petition that was registered on May 24," Yusril explained to the press at the Constitutional Court.

List of Courtroom Participants

Besides submitting the Relevant Party’s statement to respond to the Petitioner’s argument, Ade Irfan Pulungan said that his camp had registered and submitted a list of courtroom participants. The letter was received directly by the Constitutional Court Registrar Muhidin and the Head of the Legal and Registrar Administration Bureau Wiryanto.

According to Constitutional Court Regulation Number 4 of 2018, Irfan added, the Relevant Party may invite several participants to the hearing along with the registered attorneys. "[We registered] 29 [people]. They were the secretary general of party coalition for Candidate Pair Number 01 and the TKN expert team," Irfan said.

Spokespeople

Regarding the Relevant Party’s preparation for the 2019 presidential PHPU preliminary hearing scheduled for June 14, Yusril said that he had also confirmed that his camp had appointed spokespeople to give information at the hearing. They are I Wayan Sudirta, Luhut Pangaribuan, and Yusril himself. He revealed that TKN attorneys will take turns to speak in the hearings. “All advocates who handle this case have the same abilities and capacities. So, there is no discrimination. It\'s just that at the first hearing, the spokespeople have been appointed," Yusril said. (Sri Pujianti/NRA/FS/YW)
