JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—All civil servants (PNS) and Non-Civil Servant Government Employees (PPNPN) in the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court joined the flag ceremony to commemorate the birth of Pancasila at the yard of the Constitutional Court on Saturday (1/6/2019). Head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center Kurniasih Panti Rahayu delivered a speech by the Head of the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education (BPIP) that Pancasila is able to unite Indonesia as a nation under the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

Indonesia is a unitary archipelago located in between two oceans and two continents. As foundation, ideology, and guidelines of the state drafted by the founding fathers, Pancasila is a gift from the Almighty God to the nation. Although Indonesia has not realized Pancasila values perfectly, the nation has existed so far due to Pancasila. The birth of Pancasila on June 1 is closely related to the formulation of the Jakarta Charter by the Small Committee of the Investigating Committee for Preparatory Works for Independence (BPUPKI), who ratified Pancasila within the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution.

"Thus, it is expected that the debate about the birth of Pancasila is no longer. What is needed now is how to practice and maintain Pancasila continuously," said Rahayu reading out the speech before all the participants of the ceremony.

Through the commemoration of the birth of Pancasila on June 1, 2019, Rahayu added, Pancasila needed to be a source of hope for political inspiration in the life of the nation and state.
