JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court a flag ceremony to commemorate the 111th National Awakening, Monday (20/5/2019). Civil servants and employees of the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court attended the ceremony.
In his address, Head of Center for Research, Case Review, and Library Management Rubiyo read out the speech of the Communication and Information Technology Minister Rudiantara entitled “Rise to Unite.” The minister stated that Indonesia must rise to unite in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
“We have recorded over a decade of commemoration of the nation’s pluralism, which was marked by the establishment of Boedi Oetomo. Despite diverse languages, tribes, religions, cultures, and among the most extreme geographies in the world, we have proven that we are able to maintain unity until today,” he said.
The elections have drained our energy and emotions. Every citizen aspires to different things in the elections, but all are for the good of the nation. Therefore, there is no need to be divided by different political choices. "We must be certain that we will be able to recover immediately from the dissents and social divisions by thinking of a bigger picture for our nation\'s unity," he stressed.
Rubiyo also mentioned the Palapa Oath, the epitome of Indonesia’s unity. "The archipelago united by Gajah Mada is a reference for the struggles of our national heroes to unite the territory of Indonesia as manifested de jure in the current Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
Rubiyo encouraged all staff to explore the local wisdom from the ancestors: mutual cooperation. It will always be relevant and increasingly urgent following the demand of an era full of various changes.
"By relying on the strength human resources and market population, Indonesia is projected to soon [rise] in the world economy. Along with other major countries such as China, the United States, India, Indonesia\'s economy will grow into the top ten, even the top five in the world, in the next 10 to 30 years," Rubiyo said.
The key, Rubiyo said, lies in the desire to maintain momentum and a calm climate to work. We, he continued, must maintain conducive atmosphere for the harmony and unity in the life of the state.
He concluded his address by saying, “Finally, [happy] 111th National Awakening Day. [Let us] citizens consciously interpret this commemoration by renewing the spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration, as a legacy of local wisdom that will lead us to glory on the global stage.” (Arif Satriantoro/LA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
