JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—Based on the Decision of the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court Number 107 of 2019 concerning the Task Force for the 2019 Election Result Dispute Resolution within the Registrar’s Office, head of the security division, ad hoc substitute registrar, and the task force handling election dispute cases took an oath on Wednesday (8/5/2019) at the Lobby of the Constitutional Court Plenary Room.

After the oath, Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah, in his address, advised that the oath declaration of the task force is not only about the interests of the institution, but also a moral message. That is because it means that employees who were sworn had made an oath before God. The oath, therefore, is of moral values and integrity.

In relation to the Constitutional Court’s authority on 2019 PHPU resolution, Guntur said that it is not merely a routine event every five years. Even though since 2004 Court has handled past regional, presidential, and legislative elections there are new employees in the latest task force teams. Therefore, he requested that the new members not hesitate to ask questions and discuss with seniors to improve their knowledge while carrying out the task, as the task force teams had had workshops and training to prepare everything. "This is indeed not a new task, but [the teams] must be introspective and keep being informed of regulations because we are at the forefront, so we must really be ready to provide justice," Guntur said.

At the end of the address, Guntur also hoped that each task force team would welcome every petitioner or community who come to the Constitutional Court or ask questions and submit petitions and consult with them with kind, friendly, smiling, and firm gestures. "I hope, as we meet petitioners and the constitutional justices in the court, the task force provide good and optimal services. Offer a smile but firmness in serving the litigants. Provide optimal services," he stressed. (Sri Pujianti/LA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
