JAKARTA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court held a ceremony to celebrate the April 21 Kartini Day on Monday (22/4/2019) at the yard of the Constitutional Court. The ceremony was attended by around 200 staff members of the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court.
In her address, the Junior Registrar III Ida Ria Tambunan delivered a message about the inspiration of Kartini\\'s life. Kartini taught hard work and strong determination. "Her struggle is about the emancipation of women. On the other hand, she also fought for social issues existing [at the time]," she explained.
Kartini, Ida said, was an ideal figure for Indonesian women who taught never to give up, to be persistent and work together to help each other. These attitudes must be infused and emulated.
"Kartini lived in a period distant from us but her inspiration never faded over time," Ida said. Kartini, she said, is a hero for all the people of Indonesia.
Ida also sent a message about the spirit of unity and diversity in the state, which she said will further the country’s existence and survival. In essence, all differences are a gift and must be maintained by all Indonesia people.
During the ceremony, all staff members of the Registrar\\'s Office and the Secretariat General of the Court wore traditional clothing from various regions in Indonesia. After the ceremony is complete, prizes were given to staff members who wore the most unique and best costumes. (Arif Satriantoro/LA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
