CISARUA, Public Relations of the Constitutional Court—The Constitutional Court organized the Technical Assistance Program on the Procedural Law of the 2019 Elections Results Dispute Resolution for advocates Class IV, Monday–Wednesday (18-20/3/2019) at the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center, Bogor.

Before members of the Indonesian Advocates Association (Peradi) and the Association of Indonesian Advocates (PERADIN) on Monday evening (18/3/2019), Chief Justice Anwar Usman said that the program was aimed at ensuring the smooth settlement of legislative and presidential election result disputes. The program will help advocates navigate the Court proceedings during the ucming complicated simultaneous legislative and presidential elections.

Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah also confirmed that the program was organized to facilitate Court proceedings so that all litigating parties, including the advocates, understand the proceedings at the Constitutional Court. The Court is likely to accept many petitions due to the legislative and presidential elections being implemented simultaneously.

He said that the technical assistance program so far has had 22,325 participants. The program is held in stages for advocates due to the high number of participants. Before concluding his address, he asked for constructive criticism to improve the program and expressed his appreciation for the attending participants.

The technical assistance program will present materials on the procedural law of legislative and presidential elections dispute cases, the drafting of petition, and the use of technology in Court proceedings. (Arif Satriantoro/LA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
