The Constitutional Court held the Technical Assistance Program of the 2019 Elections Results Dispute Resolution for Advocates Class V at Arvana Senen, Jakarta on Monday (11/03/19). Participants of the technical assistance were the Indonesian Advocaten Association (PAI).

Law enforcement is a mandate from any holy book. Upholding justice is written in the scriptures. "Never commit fraud, enforcers of justice. Do not defend the little people more than is natural. And never be afraid of sinners, "said Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman beginning his opening speech.

Justice based on truth will defeat evil. The principle of justice will create a just law for all people. "This must be emulated by [all of you], if you will take part in any court. [You] must really have the principle of justice based on truth," he added.

Justice Anwar also mentioned the 2019 Simultaneous Elections on April 17, 2019 to elect legislators and president and vice president. He quoted Vice President Jusuf Kalla that elections in Indonesia are the most challenging in the world. “Therefore, we must really try and do our best to create democratic elections,” he appealed.

The 2019 Simultaneous Elections is a milestone in Indonesia\'s history since independence. It is said to be the most challenging because there will be five ballot boxes. There is the potential of disputes between candidates in one party or different parties. Thus, more petitions on the 2019 Elections might be filed to the Constitutional Court compared to the 2014 Elections.

Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah had previously said in his address that the Constitutional Court is made guardian of the Constitution, because the Court is the place to seek justice and democracy. “In addition, the Constitutional Court is also dubbed guardian of human rights who seek justice, as well as final interpreter [of the Constitution],” he explained.

The Technical Assistance Program for Advocates Class V that will be taking place from Monday (11/03/19) to Wednesday (13/03/19) is followed by 50 participants from PAI. PAI Chairman Sultan Junaedi in his address expressed his gratitude to the Constitutional Court for organizing the program. He also said that PAI will be a bridge to other advocates. “At the moment, the technical assistance program is also being followed by Peradi members. It is an honor for us that Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court is willing to attend and open this program,” he said.

Sultan also reminded the participants to really take part in this program because the information shared in the program will be very useful, not only in cases on the general elections. (Panji/NRA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
