The Constitutional Court (MK) held a Technical Assistance Program of the 2019 Elections Results Dispute Resolution for the Golongan Karya Party (Golkar) at the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center, Bogor, on Thursday (6/12/2018). The event was attended by 40 classes, consisting of political parties, election advocates, and legal counsels for legislative candidates. It was opened by Deputy Chief Justice Aswanto. "This time, the Constitutional Court invited the Golkar Party, consisting of mainstay cadres from the party who are capable and trusted to be able to transfer knowledge to other cadres," he said.

Justice Aswanto also explained the Constitutional Court authorities: reviewing laws against the 1945 Constitution, deciding on authority disputes between state institutions whose authority was granted by the 1945 Constitution, dissolving political parties, and resolving disputes over legislative and presidential. It also has an obligation decide on the impeachment of the president or vice president.

He also talked about violations in the regional head elections, so that the Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) must be strict in responding to electoral violations. He also encouraged other law enforcers to report to the authorities in case of any violation. The Constitutional Court, he said, will not accept individual case that is not approved by the party’s Central Executive Board (DPP). He also discouraged potential litigants not to believe anyone who offers lobbying at the Court.

Golkar Party Legal and Human Rights adviser Amriati Amin said that the party appreciates the technical assistance program that has been going on for several years. She hoped the Constitutional Court will always be guarding the country’s Constitution. She hoped the program will help Golkar cadres in handling the upcoming elections and be outstanding cadres.
