Cirebon Municipal KPU Reports Re-election Results

The Constitutional Court held a follow-up hearing on the case of the 2018 Cirebon Mayoral Election Results Dispute No. 8/PHP.KOT-XVI/2018 on Tuesday afternoon (10/16). Chairman of the Cirebon Municipal Election Commission (KPU) 2013-2018 Emirzal Hamdani delivered a report related to the implementation of re-election and re-counting for the 2018 Cirebon Mayoral Election. 

Emirzal explained that on Saturday, September 22, 2018, the KPU had carried out re-election and recapitulation at 24 polling stations according to the interlocutory decision of the Constitutional Court, that is, in TPS 15 Kesambi Village, TPS 15 Drajat Village, TPS 16 Drajat Village. Then in the Kejaksan Subdistrict that includes TPS 3, TPS 5, TPS 6, TPS 11, TPS 12, TPS 14, TPS 15, TPS 16, TPS 17, TPS 18, TPS 19, TPS 20, TPS 18, TPS 19, TPS 20, TPS 22, TPS 23, TPS 20 , TPS 25, TPS 27, and TPS 28 Kesenden Village. Also, in Lemahwungkuk Subdistrict that includes TPS 16 Kesepuhan Village and TPS 15 Panjunan Village. And then, in Pekalipan Subdistrict in TPS 10 Jagasatru Village. 

Then, on Sunday, September 23, 2018, the KPU had also carried out a recapitulation at the District Election Committee (PPK) in the Cirebon region. 

"Then, on Monday, September 24, 2018, the KPU carried out the recapitulation at the Cirebon Municipal KPU level," Emirzal explained to the Panel of Justices led by Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman. 

The vote recapitulation at the Cirebon Municipal KPU shows that Candidate Pair Number 2 Nasrudin Azis and Eti Herawati won 2,997 votes while Candidate Pair Number 1 Bamunas Setiawan Boediman and Effendi Edo received 2,943 votes. Thus Candidate Pair Number 2 still won with a margin of 54 votes. Prior to the re-voting (PSU), Candidate Pair Number 2 had won 2,903 votes, while Candidate Pair Number 1 2,783 votes. 

Meanwhile, the West Java Provincial KPU, represented by Endun Abdul Haq as the Commissioner, explained a number of activities carried out by the West Java Provincial KPU. For example, on September 20, 2018, they destroyed damaged ballots in the 2018 Cirebon mayor re-election. In addition, they held a technical coordination meeting for the 2018 Cirebon mayor re-election. 

Then, on September 21, 2018, the West Java Provincial KPU distributed the logistics for the 2018 Cirebon mayor re-election, including monitoring 24 polling stations throughout all villages and subdistricts in Cirebon. 

"In addition, it was followed up by consulting with the [central] KPU and coordination meeting at the [central] KPU at 18.30 WIB," Endun said. 

The results of the coordination meeting between the [central] KPU and the KPU of West Java Province, among others, is ordering the Cirebon Municipal KPU to immediately follow up on the Constitutional Court\'s ruling to hold the 2018 Cirebon mayor re-election by considering the time division according to the order of the Constitutional Court. 

"The Cirebon mayor re-election was carried out by matching the original hologram C1-KWK model form with the original hologram Plano-KWK C1 model form at 24 polling stations carried out by the Cirebon Municipal KPU simultaneously in several panels," said Endun.
