Head of the National Law Development Agency (BPHN) Enny Nurbaningsih officially replaced Maria Farida Indrati as a constitutional justice. Former Justice Maria went into retirement on August 13, 2018. New Justice Enny took an oath of office before President Joko Widodo on Monday (13/8/2018) at the State Palace, Jakarta.

The Gadjah Mada University professor was inaugurated as a constitutional justice after being nominated by President Joko Widodo based on the Presidential Decree No. 134/P of 2018 on the Honorable Discharge and Inauguration of Constitutional Justices after fit and proper test by the selection committee of constitutional justices formed by the President. Enny was selected after beating out two competitors, UII constitutional law professor Ni’matul Huda and Padjajaran University law lecturer Susi Dwi Harijanti.

Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna H. Laoly stated that Enny’s appointment was a great decision as she is a consistent hard worker who had done her duties as Head of BPHN well. Yasonna hoped that she would be a great constitutional justice who consistently maintains her integrity. (Ilham/LA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
