The Constitutional Court (MK) received the petition on the 2018 regional election results dispute of Bangkalan regent and vice regent filed by Candidate Pair Number 1 Farid Alfauzi and Sudarmawan through attorney Imam Asmarahakim.

“We observed widespread violations, the biggest being money politics. KWK C-6 forms in the form of invitations were not sent in almost all sub-districts of Bangkalan Regency,” Imam said.

Without the C-6 forms, voters came with e-ID to polling stations (TPS), but were rejected. Election organizers asked them to come again later in the day, but they kept being rejected. “Voters then cannot use their right to vote. I think this was done on purpose by organizers,” Imam said.

Candidate Pair Number 3 had distributed staple food to Bangkalan residents during the election silence period before the 2018 election. According to the Bangkalan KPU, the pair with the most votes is Candidate Pair Number 3 Abdul Latif Amin Imron and Mohni with 243,877 votes. The margin between Candidate Pair Number 1 and 3 is 59,443 votes or 9% based on the Bangkalan KPU.

On the same day, the Court also registered the petitions of Madiun City as well as Donggala Regency. Until July 6, 2018 the Court has received 16 petitions from Tegal City, Parepare City, Gorontalo City, Madiun City, Bangkalan Regency 1, Bangkalan Regency 2, North Bolaang Mongondouw Regency, Biak Numfor Regency, Cirebon City, Donggala Regency, Serang City, Bekasi City, Pinrang Regency, Banyuasin Regency, Subang Regency, and North Tapanuli Regency.
