Chief Justice Anwar Usman and the other eight constitutional justices discussing the case management system in the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday (4/6/2018). In the discussion in the Delegation Room of the Constitutional Court, KPK Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson Agus Rahardjo Laode and Muhammad Syarif were present.

Heads of bureaus and centers in the Registrar’s Office and Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court also attended the discussion. The discussion was an effort by both institutions to improve synergy and integrity in maintaining transparency of the Court’s handling of cases. Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah said that the Court continued to improve transparency to the public, such as by digitizing public documents, which eliminates the chance of documents being lost.

Guntur also said that the Court had cooperated with relevant institutions to ensure that all stakeholders had implemented the Court’s decisions. In relation to case deadline, Guntur added that only judicial review of laws is not limited by a deadline, while other authorities of the Court are time-limited.

“Every authority of the Constitutional Court has been regulated by law. Therefore, if KPK wants that all case handling in the Court is time-limited, it should comply with provisions in the law, because all of the Court’s authorities refer to law,” he explained. (Sri Pujianti/LA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
