Second, it is authorized to decide on authority dispute among state institutions, whose authorizes are granted by the Constitution. Third, it is authorized to decide on the dissolution of political parties. Fourth, it is authorized to decide on disputes over election results. The Court is also obligated to decide on the House’s opinion on an alleged violation of law committed by the president and/or vice president (impeachment). In addition, pursuant to Law No. 8 of 2011, the Court is given a special authority to decide on disputes over the results of regional election of governors, regents, and mayors.

“This special authority is granted to the Constitutional Court before a special judiciary is established,” he said in the general lecture moderated by Mataram University lecturer Iwan Harsono. (Hidayat/LA/Yuniar Widiastuti)
