Arief Hidayat took an oath as constitutional justice for 2018-2023 on Tuesday (27/3) at the State Palace, Jakarta. Arief was re-elected by the House of Representatives (DPR). He swore before the president that he would fulfill his duties as well and fair as possible.

"By God, I do solemnly swear that I will fulfill the obligations of a constitutional justice as well and as fair as possible to uphold the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and implement all laws and regulations with sincerity according to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and to serve the state and nation," he swore before Jokowi and a number of state officials. 

The procession of the oath begins with the reading of Presidential Decree Number 129p of 2017 concerning the Appointment of Constitutional Justices, signed by President Joko Widodo on December 18, 2017.

Arief Hidayat was re-elected for the second time. On April 1, 2013, Arief took the oath of office as a constitutional justice. After two years, Arief was elected Chief Justice of the 2015-2017 period, replacing Hamdan Zoelva who ended his term on January 7, 2015, and was re-elected as Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court in July 2017. 

This inauguration was attended by Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of State Secretariat Pratikno, Minister of Home Affairs Tjahjo Kumolo, Chairperson of the People\'s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Zulkifli Hasan, Chief Supreme Court Justice Hatta Ali, and eight constitutional justices.
