To improve capacity of state agencies, the Constitutional Court (MK) cooperates with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) and the Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and signed a MoU on Tuesday (6/3/2020) in the hall of the Constitutional Court.

Chief Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat expressed his appreciation for the MoU and stated that all state agencies must collaborate to improve their capacity. This collaboration will positively impact the agencies’ services for the community.

The Constitutional Court’s Secretary General M. Guntur Hamzah had previously stated that the MoU with BPKP was meant as part of improving good governance within the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court. Meanwhile, the MoU with LPSK is meant to improve capacity of both institutions.

Guntur revealed that the cooperation covers socialization of citizens’ constitutional rights, use and optimization of video conference facilities, as well as academic events related to state administration law, constitutional issues, and protection of witnesses and victims. He hoped the cooperation will create synergy among state institutions. He stressed that the MoUs are important for the Constitutional Court towards becoming a modern court as well as towards transparency and accountability.

Judicial Commission Chairman Aidul Fitriciada Azhari also expressed his appreciation for the MoU and said that the cooperation is one of the efforts to improve transparency and accountability of state institutions.

Head of BPKP Ardan Adiperdana said that the effort to build synergy among state institutions is part of the effort to realize good governance. “It should be managed accountably and be held by two [things], internal and external supervision. The MoU will strengthen that,” he said.

LPSK Chairman Abdul Haris Semendawai hoped the MoU will be continuous. He said synergy and collaboration are key conditions for advancing and quality state institutions. (ARS/LA)
