The Constitutional Court welcomed the Civil Society Coalition to Save the Constitutional Court, Tuesday (6/2/2018) in the Delegation Room. Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Bureau Rubiyo and Constitutional Court spokesperson Fajar Laksono met with representatives of the coalition, which included Transparency International Indonesia, Kode Inisiatif, Perludem (Association for Elections and Democracy), Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), Partnership for Governance Reform, and PP Muhammadiyah Anti-Corruption School.
Dadang Trisasongko of Transparency International Indonesia expressed the coalition’s appreciation of the Court’s effort in maintaining its integrity and honor. Then Fajar talked about the demand for Chief Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat’s resignation and the clarification of the employment status of civil servant Abdul Ghoffar.
Fajar said he would forward the demand for Justice Arief Hidayat’s resignation. He then clarified that no sanction was imposed on Abdul Ghoffar for his article. Abdul Ghoffar, originally a researcher for the justices, was transferred to the Center for Research, Case Review and ITC Management (P4TIK).
Fajar encouraged all parties to respect the mechanism by the Constitutional Court Ethics Council towards its employees. "Let’s follow it well and hopefully this ends for the common good," said Fajar to members of the press. (Sri Pujianti)
